The wrought up pollinator is Apis mellifera. Native to Japan, Korea, the Russian Far East, and parts of China (Gansu, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Jilin, Liaoning, Nei Mongol, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi). Ornamental plant. Edible plant - fruits cooked with a sharp, acid flavour, used in preserves and confections; leaves (?). Herbal plant - roots are antirheumatic. Usable plant - the plant is very amenable to trimming and can be grown as an almost impenetrable formal or informal hedge; a yellow dye is obtained from roots and wood.
