Łódź, Botanical Garden
It is native to western North America; widely spread in Poland in cultivation and at wild.
Ornamental plant.
Bees feeding plant.
Edible plant - roots raw or cooked.
Herbal plant - a decoction of the plant has been used as a tonic; pounded seeds are mixed with water then strained and used to treat eye problems.
Useful plant - the plant is grown as a soil improver because of deep and branched root structure; lupins substantially increase soil total and labile nitrogen because of rhizomatic symbiosis with nitrogen fixing bacteria.
